co-art co-act Project Multidisciplinary Art Workshop | "The Gender of Gestures" with Özlem Şimşek

"Gender of Gestures", which will focus on The Sustainable Development Goal 5, will take place on Friday, December 2-3 - Saturday, under the direction of Özlem Şimşek. In the workshop with the theme of Gender Equality, a production process based on participatory art principles focusing on our global problems will be experienced.

What do representations expect from us?

“Gender, identity and modernity; How is it represented in literature, painting, photography and cinema, and what do representations expect from us?” The aim of the workshop, which will be shaped around these questions, is to discuss the established representations of gender, identity and ideality and to look for possible methods that can be developed to displace the naturalness of these representations. Within the scope of the workshop, performative photography and video works on the meanings of gestures will be produced with the participants. At the end of the workshop, a collectively produced work of art will be added to the co-art co-act selection opened in March and will be exhibited throughout the process.

Participants can attend the workshop with any camera, including phone camera.

*The quota is limited to 15 people.

*For Saturday, December 3, according to the workshop start and end times, participants will be provided with transportation support from a central point to the campus.
